NAGA RETURNS TO VIRGINIA!
The North American Grappling Association (NAGA) is America's largest mixed grappling tournament circuit. On SATURDAY, September 27, 2008, NAGA returns to King William, Virginia for its Virginia Grappling Championship No-Gi & Gi Tournament.

PART 2 of John Simons Training Seminar, This time in VA.
Mark your calendars for the second time and keep this day clear for PART 2 of this great seminar with John Simons founder of Team Odyssey.
As some of you already know we have a training field trip planned for Saturday, February 23, 2008. The members of Cornerstone and any of their family members that wish to accompany us will be heading up to Team Odyssey headquarters in King William, VA for another Jiu-jitsu seminar with Coach John Simons. All of you who attended John’s last seminar here in Wake Forest in January I’m sure are already excited about another opportunity to train with John and his students. This time John will have nearly his entire school to meet with our team from Cornerstone and train together.
We are planning on leaving from the parking lot in front of Cornerstone at 9am Saturday morning and heading up together to King William, VA. It will take about 2 hours and 45 minutes to get there and we will being stopping for a fast food lunch just before we arrive at John’s school and will plan on having a Golden Coral type of dinner, so please bring enough money to for those meals.
The seminar will begin around 12:30pm with the first 2 hours session. After a break the second 2 hour session will begin around 3pm. We will dismiss between 5pm and 5:30pm to get some dinner then head back home. We should get back to Wake Forest around 8:30pm.
Parents, friends and family members who wish to accompany us are welcome to attend. However to arrange transportation we will need to confirm who is attending (both student and spectator) no later then Thursday, February 14. If you can chaperone/drive please let Mr. Kevin know as some students will need a ride.
The cost of the seminar is only $25.00 per participant and their will be no spectator fee. Please make checks payable to Odyssey Martial Arts. If you have any further questions please feel free to call Mr. Kevin at 604-5595.

Cornerstone Martial Arts in Wake Forest will be hosting this 1 day training seminar withJohn Simons in January 2008. DON'T MISS THIS SEMINAR!!!

One of our own!
Brad McDonald (one of our instructors) will be fighting in Ft. Lee VA. on Saturday Nov. 10th. (Valhalla MMA) We want to encourage all our members and their families to come out and support Brad at his first Mixed Martial Arts fight/Competition. The event is scheduled to begin at 7:30 and will probably end sometime between 11:00pm and midnight. The cost is $25.00 for spectators. We will be setting up carpools for those who can attend. Roger Carol from Superior Martial Arts in Conway NC will also be competing. He is from a fellow team Odyssey school. Also John Simons and most of his students from Odyssey Martial Arts in VA. will be their as well. It will be a fun time to hang out and before the matches begin we will be able to practice with each other and our other Team Odyssey members.

New Brazilian Jiu-jitsu class
Cornerstone now offers an adult Brazilian Jiu-jitsu class. Starting in October Brad Pearce, a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, (Soon to be a Brown Belt) will be teaching Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Monday evenings from 6:30-8:00. This class will be for teens and adults who are interested in learning what is arguably the most effective Martial Arts style in the world.

Cornerstone's Big Move!
Grand opening for new location is just around the corner. After a number of unforeseen delays we are finally getting close to moving to our new 4,000 square foot location next to the old Winne Dixie shopping center (now the new 9th grade school) at the corner of Capital Blvd. and Hwy 98. This will be a bigger and better location for our school and its students. If God wills and all the details work out we should open the new location the 1st of October. We look forward to the opportunities this move will allow. We are planning on adding new programs and classes to our curriculum.

Team Odyssey!
Big news! Cornerstone Martial Arts is now an official member of the Team Odyssey Network. Team Odyssey is the nations #1 ranked youth jiu-jitsu/grappling team in the nation. They have earned numerous national titles and have produced multiple individual national champions. We at Cornerstone are honored and excited to now be part of this great team and we look forward to training with and competing together with our Odyssey team-mated in the future.

Martial Arts tournament
Cornerstone will be competing in "The Old School Classic" in Frankinton. This is a Martial Arts tournament that will take place in the Franklinton High school Gym. Their will be three separate divisions; Forms, Point Sparring and Jujitsu/Grappling. Please come and support our students as they give it their all!

Meet in the Street 2007
Christian Martial Arts Demo at Wake Forest's "Meet in the Street" Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm on stage #1. Student's from Cornerstone and Cheryl's Taekwondo Christian Demo Team will be presenting a Christian based Martial Arts demo to the public.
